Could you be the next National Chef of the Year?

Entries have opened for the UK’s most prestigious culinary title, and you could follow in the footsteps of chefs such as Gordon Ramsay, David Everitt-Matthias, Ben Murphy and current title holder, Alex Angelogiannis.

The National Chef of the Year competition provides chefs with an exciting opportunity to put themselves in the spotlight and show their culinary talent to the wider hospitality industry. Over the last five decades, NCOTY has put industry names up in lights, boosted careers and given chefs the chance to follow their dreams.

How to enter

Competitors are required to produce a three-course celebration menu for two covers within three hours. This extended cook-off time was one of new Chair of judges, Matt Abé’s first big changes to the competition as he wanted to give all chefs longer to create three courses to enable them to produce their finest work. The full brief is available on the National Chef of the Year website.

The next steps

Once all the entries have been received our judges will find 40 semi-finalists who will then be invited to the second stage which will be completed online in July. The final cook-off will take place at the University of West London in October followed by an exclusive VIP Awards evening.

To take part in National Chef of the Year, read the full brief and start planning your entry. Once you have created an account you can keep working on it until entries close on Friday, 10th May. Good luck to all the chefs who decide to enter. It’s set to be an amazing year for the competition.
