Gradz Bakery launches cake and premium dessert range.

GRADZ Bakery, winner of last year’s World Bread Awards, is launching its first cake and dessert range.

Initially available to independent retailers, coffee shops and delis the new range is also ideal for premium cake and dessert offerings in food service.

The unique new range includes a Vienna Cheesecake – a thin sponge base with a layer of fruit jam, delicious baked but light cheesecake with notes of lemon, orange and vanilla all topped with a later of dark chocolate a sprinkling of coconut. Perfect with a cup of tea or as a dessert. It is sold in either 12 or 16 slice boxes.

The Apple Cake is made up of a generous layer of diced apple pieces with cinnamon and raisins cooked on a shortcrust pastry base with a hint of plum jam and topped with a spiced crumble mixture. It has a drizzle of icing to top it off and is great served chilled or warmed with ice-cream. Again it is sold in 16 slices.

The Fruit Tart is a yoghurt style cake with rich in flavour plums, dusted with powder sugar. It is sold in 32 pre-cut pieces.

GRADZ was set up by Master Baker Romuald Damaz and his business partner Agnes Gabriel-Damaz who discovered a range of family recipes in the attic, hand written by her Great Grandfather and which they have developed to appeal to a more modern consumer.

The name of the bakery comes from their names – Gabriel Romuald Agnes DamaZ.

Agnes Gabriel-Damaz is delighted with the new range which complements the bakery products. She says: “We wanted to offer something very different, very premium in the cake and dessert arena. The same care and attention to detail that makes our breads so different is in these new recipes which we think customers will find almost irresistible! We have enjoyed creating and tasting them!”
